It’s that time again! Anne over at In Residence has provided new prompts for a new month. Here are MY responses. eating: an amazing pork grilled cheese sandwich for dinner just now at Clyde’s Table and Tavern in Cleveland, Georgia! The best smoked pork barbecue I’ve had in a long time on buttery, toasted bread with both cheddar and pepper jack cheese. With really good coleslaw and delicious (vinegar base) barbecue sauce. Y’all! SO GOOD!!! feeling: peaceful…and hot! My husband…
I’m linking up with Anne from In Residence to share what I’m CURRENTLY celebrating, collecting, gifting, thinking, and trying. Here we go! I am CURRENTLY: celebrating: our 32nd wedding anniversary! Our actual wedding anniversary abounded with emotion, not only from deep love for my guy, but also because that’s the day our son and daughter-in-law headed back home to Alaska after being in our local area for a few weeks. Goodbyes stink, y’all! But never fear! We celebrated the next…
It’s time to link up with Anne of In Residence and see what everyone is CURRENTLY up to. We all follow the same prompts–they change each month–and it’s fun to see how everyone responds! Our son got married last month, so I’m spinning this month’s prompts in a past-tense, wedding direction! I am CURRENTLY, or I RECENTLY: Picked: My mother-of-the-groom dress, and I just love it! I felt like a princess all day! (Oh, the power of alterations for a…
What happened to Summer Adventures, you ask? Heat. Heat happened! It’s just too hot here in Coastal Georgia to do much. Also, since we made our big anniversary trip to England and Scotland in May/June, we stayed pretty close to home this summer. Oh, and I had foot surgery. (More on that in a minute.) Then autumn started, and all our attention was focused on our son’s wedding! HOORAY!!! It was lovely and beautiful and amazing! Two weeks after that…
Over the years my parents have enjoyed group travel with a local company. They’ve traveled to some amazing places! Sometimes the company offers mystery trips. Passengers sign up for these trips not knowing where they’re going or what they’ll be doing when they get there. My intrepid parents have enjoyed a few of those trips! A few weeks ago my husband and I asked Mama and Daddy if they’d like take a mystery trip with US! They were quick to…
When I shared my Autumn Adventures Update a few days ago, I told you I had a funny story to tell you! One of the items on my Autumn Adventures list is to go kayaking twice. Gene and I love to paddle at George L. Smith State Park which is about an hour or so from us. We’ve been several times but never when the cypress trees change color for fall. I’m determined to get pictures of that. Speaking of…
Last night we went with some good friends to see our first Savannah Bananas baseball game and had a blast! I’m not really a fan of baseball, but I rapidly became a Bananas fan! The Savannah Bananas?!? I can hear you rolling your eyes! It’s a horrible name, right?!? Alas. This is what happens with the public is allowed to vote on the name of the team. (Whose idea was it to trust “the people” with such an important decision?!?…
Hooray for a new Currently link up! Here’s what I’m currently up to! Doing: Visiting new friends in beautiful Thomasville, Georgia! I met some ladies at the #READSavannah event back in September, and two of them live in Thomasville. I had been here once before and discovered a delightful downtown area with loads of unique shops and some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. (I’m looking at you, Jonah’s Fish and Grits!) I’m here now to invest in these…
I’ll be back later tonight for a wrap up of Michael Ann’s Kitchen, but for now, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Have a great, fun evening! We’re ready for our neighborhood trick or treaters! #halloweensouthernstyle
