Currently – March 2019
I’m linking up with Anne of In Residence again this month for Currently. This month’s prompts are scheming, reading, buying, making, and accomplishing. Here we go!
I am CURRENTLY…
scheming: okay, planning (because that word makes me happier!) a mystery trip for my parents! In the past they’ve taken mystery trips with Excursion Tours and really enjoyed them. Since I love to plan trips and they like to TAKE trips, I’m planning a mystery trip for them/us. I am SO stinkin’ excited about this one! They’re going to love it! And since my mom reads my blog (Hi, Mama!), I’ll have to come back later and tell you what we did!
reading: The Next Right Thing by Emily P. Freeman and Whiskey When We’re Dry by John Larison. The Next Right Thing releases on April 2, and I highly recommend pre-ordering it. The book is amazing–you can read my early review HERE–and the pre-order bonuses are crazy good! And BONUS BONUS, Emily just added a quiz to see what kind of decision maker you tend to be! You’ll find all of that goodness HERE. Whiskey When We’re Dry is unique to any book I’ve read before, and that’s saying something. It’s voice threw me at first, but now I’m totally into it. If you like westerns, outlaws, and/or brave women, you’ll want to read this one! I’m hoping to finish it up in the next few days.
buying: a little bit of this and that. I’m planning to order this rain poncho for an upcoming trip that will involved a lot of hiking and quite possibly a lot of RAIN. (Did I mention we’re planning a trip to SCOTLAND?!?) I’ll also update my wardrobe with a few items from the GYPO Spring Style Challenge. As an annual member I received the challenge today, and I can tell you it’s fantastic! If you want some help updating YOUR wardrobe for spring, and if you want to learn how to better use the pieces you already own, you’re going to love this! It costs a little bit of money up front but will SAVE you money in the end. I promise!
making: paper flowers to springerize my amazing branch! I used this branch as an Advent Calendar in December and as a winter feature (with glittery gold snowflakes) in January and February. Much to my husband’s dismay I want to continue using this branch for spring! (You should’ve seen his face when I got ALL excited about finding this branch in his parents’ yard after the last hurricane! Poor guy just doesn’t understand my fondness for it!) My daughter and I are eying these as a possibility.
accomplishing: a better rhythm of including exercise in my day. And I’m happy about that! I want to be stronger and healthier.

Ahh, planning a mystery trip to take with your parents sounds AMAZING! What a fun idea. You’ve got me really intrigued about Whiskey When We’re Dry now too – sounds like something my husband might enjoy as well, which is great because he’s been tearing through books lately and I’m running out of stuff on my shelves that he’s super interested in 🙂
We did a mystery trip with my parents a couple of years ago, and it went well! We’re excited to do it again. Let me know what you/your husband think of Whiskey! I’m looking forward to getting back into it after a couple of busy, book-less days.
LIke Anne said, I am thinking PC might like Whiskey, too. We used to listen to books together. Maybe I could get this one for us to listen to in the hot tub.
I like to take trips, if you ever tire of planning trips for your parents. Can’t wait to see where you are sending them.
I like the branch, too, but can relate to your husband not ‘getting’ it. PC doesn’t get my decorating for different seasons/holidays. But I love it.
