Currently – April 2020
Currently is my favorite linkup to write each month, and I’m excited that Anne at In Residence decided to host it this month as usual, even in the midst of all the UNusual that is life these days.
I am CURRENTLY:
sharing: a playlist with you guys! As the world spun into this very special level of crazy, I found my soul yearning to stop and remember what is TRUE. There was so much hype and so much news and so much confusion about which was which. I turned to God and said, “Okay, help me review what is TRUE.” God is good. He sees and hears us in the crazy. He is faithful. He loves us more than we can imagine. And on and on. The songs in this playlist remind me of those TRUE things, and the music is calm and peaceful. It includes some lullabies, some old hymns, some newer songs, and just a little Kenny Rogers. (Because I just had to after hearing of his death.) Anyway, I made it public in case you’d like to hear truth during YOUR day as well. Here’s the link.
writing: more blog posts! Since my life and schedule have been radically simplified, I’m determined to use that “extra” time to do more writing. I posted my Springtime Adventure List on Sunday, and my brain has been happily buzzing ever since! I hope you will subscribe and pop back in frequently!
wishing: that all of this COVID-19 situation wasn’t really happening. It’s surreal, isn’t it? So when I wake up in the morning and remember what’s happening–always a shock–I take a minute to greet God and start the day by thanking Him for all the good things I can think of. And then I move on to praying for ALL the things!
investigating: how to use Zoom! I may use it to “meet” with my small group from church and/or with friends in general.
buying: this shirt from Ramble & Company, a super sweet small business out of Wichita Falls, Texas.
And also buying the Wingfeather Saga Books 1 and 2 from The Bookshelf in beautiful downtown Thomasville, Georgia. (Bonus points if you heard that last bit in Annie’s voice! Annie, as in the owner of The Bookshelf and host of From the Front Porch podcast.) Andrew Peterson is one of my favorite music artists, and it turns out he’s an amazing artist in other fields as well! (His music features prominently in the playlist I mentioned earlier.) I highly recommend these books for school-aged kids and adults too! #toothycows #singingseadragons #valorandbravery #irestmycase
It’s always fun to see how others responded to these same prompts! You can pop over to In Residence to see what Anne is CURRENTLY doing, and you can click through to other blogs to see THEIR answers!
Thanks for stopping by OutAndBack! What are YOU currently doing these days? (Other than washing your hands!)

Haha, I totally did hear that in Annie’s voice! And I think I’m going to have to check out those books for Hendrik. We’re always looking for something new.
This really is a surreal time, isn’t it? Thankful for having this online community to come to for camaraderie and also encouragement – so I’m so glad you joined in and shared how you’re doing, and also your smile that goes so great with your adorable tee!
