Currently – January 2019
This month’s prompts for the “Currently” link up are: choosing, tidying, resolving, exploring, and refreshing.
I am currently…
choosing books for #theunreadshelfproject2019 hosted by Whitney of @theunreadshelf on Instagram. I’m not sure if I’ll follow her monthly prompts, but I *do* appreciate her helping me focus on choosing my next read from my “unread shelf” before looking elsewhere! I think my first reads of the year will be Ecology of a Cracker Childhood by Janisse Ray (recommended by a dear friend) and Preach to Yourself by Hayley Morgan.
tidying my laundry room. If you’ve been around for a while, you know this project has been on my to-do list for ages now! I’m going to give it another go!
resolving to not get tied into knots about New Year resolutions! I *do* want to make some goals, but I’m still thinking and praying about them!
exploring travel options for this year. Gene and I have several trips we’d like to make, so it’s time for me to start researching and exploring the details of making those happen. Europe is on the wish list, but we REALLY have to narrow down WHERE in Europe! Unless someone wants to sponsor us for a year of travel, in which case we’ll try to cover it all! (Wouldn’t that be nice?!?)
refreshing a couple of things. I’m refreshing my prayer focus by using this prayer journal from Val Marie Paper. And I’m refreshing my kitchen a bit as I make room for some fun stuff I got for Christmas. (Hello, double waffle maker!) I’m moving a few things around, and I think I’ll grab some new dish towels to celebrate a new year!
Currently is one of my favorite link-ups each month. Pop over to In Residence to see how Anne and other bloggers replied to these same five prompts! So much fun!

Sounds like a great start to a new year!
I’ve only been to London, but I’d love to go back someday – or elsewhere in Europe too like Italy and Paris. So much food! LOL

Ohhhh this “unread shelf” idea is convicting me a bit… I have a big stack between my physical shelf and my Kindle app, but it’s so easy to get distracted by all the new releases that sound good! And I hope you get to Europe this year! My favorite ever is London, with Paris being a close second. Those are cities where it’s very easy to spend an entire trip, and still not run out of things to do/see!
I hear you, Anne! When I pulled books for the unread shelf project, I totally forgot about alllllll the books on my Kindle!
London, specifically standing on the bridge beside Parliament, is one of my favorite places on Earth! Paris is magical but not my very favorite. I think we’ll focus on Ireland and Scotland…but it’s still under negotiation! Stay tuned!
