reading: Liane Moriarty’s new book, Truly Madly Guilty.  I recently read What Alice Forgot and found it interesting.  This new one was a struggle for me.  I was scared about where it was going to go, and I put it down multiple times and had to decide if I was going to finish it or not.  I’m glad I persevered!  The book did NOT go off into a totally gross direction after all, and I really loved the way the story resolved.  I do wish she had skipped the profanity.  (Who needs that?)  Once again though, as in What Alice Forgot, the author presents some powerful pictures of how couples can really dig in and fight for their marriage and persevere, coming out stronger than before.  This I love!

trying:  to get better at planning meals.  Still.  Why is this so hard for me?!?  I’m a planner!  I *love* planning!  I love planning everything EXCEPT meals.  *sigh*

hoping:  to get some camping trips in over the next few months!  Temperatures here in Coastal Georgia are finally cooling off, and that means camping is nearly an option again!  We’re planning to do a cool canoe/camping-in-a-treehouse trip in South Carolina and another hiking trip in North Georgia.  I can’t wait!

decorating:  my house for autumn.  Like everyone else in the world–well, in the northern hemisphere–is doing these days!  Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I use autumn colors all year in my house.

to-do listing: my to-do list in my bullet journal!  What a great tool!  I’ve been using my bullet journal for a few months now, and I’m really getting it dialed in to what works for me.  Mine is not all beautifully decorated, but it IS functional!  No more post it notes all over the place.

What are YOU currently reading, trying, hoping, planning, and to-do listing?!?  Please comment below and let me know!  I LOVE reading and replying to comments!

I’m sending a BIG thank you to Anne and Beth for hosting this edition of Currently!  Be sure to click through to see what they and lots of others are CURRENTLY up to!

  1. I’m really intrigued by the bullet journal but can’t decide if it’s just the idea of getting to buy a new notebook/pens that has me interested 🙂 Love seeing reviews of how it’s working for other people. And I love Liane Moriarty’s books – such compulsive, page-turning reading but still really makes me think about relationships. I read this most recent one in 2 days!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Anne! I decided to try the whole bullet journal thing but didn’t want to spend too much money on it. I bought a small journal at Walmart and a new mechanical pencil, but that’s it! Turns out I use a blue ink pen more than the pencil (that was a shocker to me!), and from time to time I’ll color in a heart (indicator of a special memory) with a pink colored pencil. That’s as fancy as I get! It truly has helped me be more productive.

  2. Ooooo! I love books about relationships! Guess I’ll have to read this one too! I canNOT get into the groove of meal planning either. Why?? I’m loving my bullet journal too and the way you helped me figure it out for me. Still working on it but I’m loving it!

    1. I’m revisiting a meal planning tool I already have, so I’ll let you know how it goes. And if you read any Liane Moriarty books, let me know what you think about them. We’ll have to bump bullet journals again when we get together to talk blogs!

      1. I read Big Little Lies and What Alice Forgot and gave them 4/5 stars. Let’s pick a date! Yes to the meal planning tool!
