Autumn Adventures – Update #1

Autumn Adventures – Update #1

One month ago I created a list of things I wanted to do this autumn. I’m excited to share some of those adventures with you today! 1.  All the camping and hiking! ✅ Hooray! We camped for a few days at the Red Gates RV Park & Camping outside Hendersonville, North Carolina.  We love this area (just south of Asheville) and this campground.  We visited the North Carolina Arboretum and did some hiking there.  You know we HAD to eat at…

Autumn Adventures 2018

Autumn Adventures 2018

Hooray for autumn!!!  Here in Coastal Georgia we don’t get much autumn color, but we DO get temperatures under 90 degrees!  Sometimes.  Eventually.  Still, it’s a special time of year because we can actually get outside and enjoy it!  Outdoor activities feature prominently in my Autumn Adventures list, so let’s get to it! Here are the adventures I hope to enjoy this autumn: 1.  All the camping and hiking!  Yes!  We have trips planned to Hendersonville, North Carolina; Chattanooga, Tennessee;…

Currently – September 2018

Currently – September 2018

It’s way past time for me to join in on Anne’s monthly Currently link up!  This month’s prompts are starting,  buying,  sharing,  reading,  and recording.   I am CURRENTLY…   starting to crave all things autumn!  Man, I’m ready for fall!  Temps are still in the high 80s here in Savannah, Georgia, but that’s a blessed relief from all the 90s and 100s of the last few months!  I *might* have baked a pumpkin pie today.  And I *might* be…

This or That – All About Looooove!

This or That – All About Looooove!

Whoop whoop!  It’s time to link up with The Blended Blog for another fun This or That!  And since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, this round has a decidedly lovey dovey focus!  Sounds good to me! 1. Kisses or Hugs?  Hugs, but I *do* love kisses too! 2.  Candy or Flowers?  May I have both?!? 3.  Baking or Cooking?  Baking something special is always a fun gift.  Cooking a special meal is equally wonderful! 4.  Do I Remember…

Winter Adventures 2018

Winter Adventures 2018

If you’re a regular here at Out and Back you’ll know that I’ve been posting a list of goals/adventures each season.  I’ve had SO much fun doing this!  You MIGHT have also noticed that I didn’t post a Winter List last month.  I have wrestled and wrestled with this one; my brain has adamantly fought against making a list this season.  Winter has been and is going to be just a little different than other seasons.  Some pretty big things…

Autumn Adventures – Final Update

Autumn Adventures – Final Update

Yes, this is way overdue!  Better late than never, I say.  Better late than never.  We checked off a few more fun adventures that I really meant to share with you, so I’ll do that now.  My official Autumn Adventures list and link to updates is posted HERE, if you want to peek back and see where I started! Item #5 on my list was to have my Christmas shopping finished before Thanksgiving.  That didn’t happen, and I gave myself…

Advent

Advent

Advent officially begins tomorrow, Sunday, December 3, 2017!  I love this time of year.  For me it’s a special time of focusing on Jesus, His birth, and His promised return. I’m headed up to the attic to start bringing down Christmas decorations this morning, and the first thing I’ll be setting up is our Advent wreath.  I wrote about it last year, and I’d like to share that post with you again today.  If you’ve never celebrated Advent, or…

Cinnamon Star Bread #bakealong

Cinnamon Star Bread #bakealong

One of my goals for this autumn was to do two of the King Arthur Flour bakealongs. Each month they post a recipe and invite folks to bake the recipe and then post a picture on social media. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, and I finally got in the kitchen and did it! The recipe for November was Cinnamon Star Bread, and it looked WAY too complicated! My mom taught me that I can cook anything…

Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future! Which is to say we’re a month into autumn already, and it’s time to revisit my Autumn Adventures List and see how I’m doing! 1.  Have a picnic in Forsyth Park in Savannah.  Not yet, but I HAVE been planning my food strategy for this one!  I’m thinking Smith Brothers will be involved! 2.  ✔Go to the beach at least once.  YES!  Gene and I went to Tybee Island for a…
