TBB Asks – August 2017

TBB Asks – August 2017

Today I’m having fun with The Blended Blog! Pool, lake, or ocean? Lake for kayaking.  Ocean for listening to the waves and just resting.  Pool on occasion for laying out and swimming. Camping, cottage, or hotel? Tent camping when it’s cool enough.  Cottage in the mountains in the fall.  Nice hotel anytime.

I know I say it every month, but I LOVE this link-up!  It’s fun to see how everyone interprets each month’s prompts and what they’re up to!  Here’s what I’m CURRENTLY…   snacking (on): Dark Salted Brown Butter Chocolate.  I discovered this chocolate bar at Publix yesterday, and it jumped into my cart all by itself.  I don’t usually eat chocolate, but this bar apparently thought I’d like it.  It’s right.

Savannah Bananas!

Savannah Bananas!

Last night we went with some good friends to see our first Savannah Bananas baseball game and had a blast! I’m not really a fan of baseball, but I rapidly became a Bananas fan! The Savannah Bananas?!? I can hear you rolling your eyes! It’s a horrible name, right?!? Alas. This is what happens with the public is allowed to vote on the name of the team. (Whose idea was it to trust “the people” with such an important decision?!?…

Summertime Fun List – Update 1

Summertime Fun List – Update 1

A month ago (WHAT?!?  A MONTH AGO ALREADY?!?) I compiled a list of things I wanted to do this summer.  I have been on the road and/or sick nearly the whole month (I’m not exaggerating), but I HAVE accomplished a few things! Here’s my list and how I’ve done so far:  (Yes, some of these are more work than fun, but summertime is a great time to do inside work when you live in the Deep South!) Pantry:  Reorganize my…

Summertime Fun List 2017

Summertime Fun List 2017

Today is the summer solstice!  This day always makes me a little sad because the days will begin to get shorter, but today I shall focus on being HAPPY about summertime!  I’m joining up with some other bloggers to share our bucket/fun lists for this sunny season! I live near Savannah, Georgia, and y’all, it is HOT here!  My springtime fun list featured a lot of outdoor activities, but my summertime fun list includes a lot of indoor, stay-in-the-air-conditioning-so-we-don’t-have-a-heat-stroke goals….

I’m linking up with Anne of In Residence and Erin of Love, Fun and Football to share what we’re planning, wishing, learning, browsing, and going.  I always enjoy seeing how different bloggers interpret each month’s Currently assignment and getting great ideas from them!  Here are MY answers! I have currently been… Planning:  the photo album from our recent trip to Alaska.

Alaska – Kayaking

Alaska – Kayaking

One of the most exciting things we did during our Alaska adventure was kayaking on Prince William Sound!  WHAT??  I had never once thought about kayaking in Alaska, but as I was planning our trip I ran across kayaking tours offered by Sound Paddler.  I mentioned them to Gene, and he said, “BOOK IT!”  So I did! We took the 8:30 AM tunnel to Whittier, and Sound Paddler greeted us at the shop as soon as we got there.  Turns…

Alaska – Glacier Cruise

Alaska – Glacier Cruise

A few days ago I told you about the tiny town of Whittier, Alaska.  We went there to take a glacier cruise, and I’m SO excited to tell you all about it! We took the 26 Glacier Cruise with Phillips Cruises & Tours.  It.  Was.  Amazing.  Truly!  This was a splurge, and it was worth every penny.  We spent 5 hours exploring the beautiful Prince William Sound. Glaciers!  We saw LOTS of glaciers,  and the captain got us within 1000…

Alaska – Whittier

Alaska – Whittier

This is Whittier, Alaska which sits on the shore of Prince William Sound in the Chugach National Forest!  About 200 people live here, and 90% of the 200 live in the tall apartment building you see in the middle of town!  (Just think about that for a minute!) This lovely piece of paradise gets 15 FEET of rain and 20 FEET of snow each year!  FEET, y’all!
