One big game changer for us right now is Prep Dish!    Prep Dish is a subscription-based service that provides me with healthy, delicious meal plans, the grocery lists to go with them, and prep instructions.  This magical combination saves me a LOT of money and LOT of time!  I posted a review yesterday and explained…

Prep Dish: A Review

Prep Dish: A Review

Do I love Prep Dish?  Yes.  Yes, I do.  I’ve talked about it here briefly, but I want to give you the whole scoop on it today. I love to cook, y’all!  LOVE to cook!  What I do NOT like to do is figure out WHAT to cook.  Can I get an amen?  Or is it just me?  AND I’m a messy cook, so I destroy the kitchen every time I cook…and I cook a lot. And then, PREP DISH!!!…

Winter Adventures 2018

Winter Adventures 2018

If you’re a regular here at Out and Back you’ll know that I’ve been posting a list of goals/adventures each season.  I’ve had SO much fun doing this!  You MIGHT have also noticed that I didn’t post a Winter List last month.  I have wrestled and wrestled with this one; my brain has adamantly fought against making a list this season.  Winter has been and is going to be just a little different than other seasons.  Some pretty big things…

Autumn Adventures – Final Update

Autumn Adventures – Final Update

Yes, this is way overdue!  Better late than never, I say.  Better late than never.  We checked off a few more fun adventures that I really meant to share with you, so I’ll do that now.  My official Autumn Adventures list and link to updates is posted HERE, if you want to peek back and see where I started! Item #5 on my list was to have my Christmas shopping finished before Thanksgiving.  That didn’t happen, and I gave myself…

Biscuit Debacle

Biscuit Debacle

Goodness gracious!   I pride myself on being a good cook!  I’ve told you the basic rules that my mom taught me.  Usually I do really well in the kitchen! Usually. I’m reading Bread & Wine: A Love Letter to Life Around the Table by Shauna Niequist as part of a reading challenge this year (but mainly because my good friend Sheila, the queen of hospitality, recommended it to me).  It’s a LOVELY book, exquisitely written, and it includes some amazing…

Anne at In Residence is sharing today what she’s CURRENTLY starting, hoping, scheduling, reading, and playing.  Me?  Here are MY answers! Starting:  exercising.  I’m really going to do it this time.  Really.  *sigh* Hoping:  for snow!  Yes, I live near Savannah, Georgia, and yes, you read that right!  We are having the oddest weather situation today!  Temperatures are super low for this area (the predicted high is only 33 degrees Fahrenheit), and rain is moving in from the Atlantic.  Predictions…

Reading Challenge 2018

Reading Challenge 2018

Ahhhhh!  A new year!  I love the reset a new year presents!  I’m still reflecting on 2017 and thinking about the possibilities 2018 brings, but one thing I HAVE (mostly) nailed down is my reading list for the 2018 Reading Challenge hosted by Anne Bogel of What Should I Read Next and Modern Mrs. Darcy. Anne hosts a reading challenge every year, and I decided

Advent

Advent

Advent officially begins tomorrow, Sunday, December 3, 2017!  I love this time of year.  For me it’s a special time of focusing on Jesus, His birth, and His promised return. I’m headed up to the attic to start bringing down Christmas decorations this morning, and the first thing I’ll be setting up is our Advent wreath.  I wrote about it last year, and I’d like to share that post with you again today.  If you’ve never celebrated Advent, or…
