Autumn Adventures 2019

Autumn Adventures 2019

What happened to Summer Adventures, you ask?  Heat.  Heat happened!  It’s just too hot here in Coastal Georgia to do much.  Also, since we made our big anniversary trip to England and Scotland in May/June, we stayed pretty close to home this summer.  Oh, and I had foot surgery.  (More on that in a minute.) Then autumn started, and all our attention was focused on our son’s wedding!  HOORAY!!!  It was lovely and beautiful and amazing!  Two weeks after that…

Currently: The Hurricane Dorian Edition

Note:  I wrote this over the last few days as we were waiting (and waiting) for Hurricane Dorian to approach the Georgia coast.  I’m VERY happy to report that we saw very little of Dorian in our area, and all is well here.  I’m currently (HA! but seriously) praying for the Carolinas who are getting roughed up by Dorian as we speak and for those brave, exhausted souls in the Bahamas. That said, let’s get to the actual post! Hello…

Mystery Trip

Mystery Trip

Over the years my parents have enjoyed group travel with a local company.  They’ve traveled to some amazing places!  Sometimes the company offers mystery trips.  Passengers sign up for these trips not knowing where they’re going or what they’ll be doing when they get there.  My intrepid parents have enjoyed a few of those trips! A few weeks ago my husband and I asked Mama and Daddy if they’d like take a mystery trip with US!  They were quick to…

Funny Kayaking Story

Funny Kayaking Story

When I shared my Autumn Adventures Update a few days ago, I told you I had a funny story to tell you!  One of the items on my Autumn Adventures list is to go kayaking twice.  Gene and I love to paddle at George L. Smith State Park which is about an hour or so from us.  We’ve been several times but never when the cypress trees change color for fall.  I’m determined to get pictures of that. Speaking of…

Autumn Adventures 2018

Here are the adventures I hope to enjoy this autumn: 1.  All the camping and hiking!  Yes!  We have trips planned to Hendersonville, North Carolina; Chattanooga, Tennessee;…

Nashville: The Food! (Brunch)

Nashville: The Food! (Brunch)

My sweet husband has wanted to go to Nashville, Tennessee for a long time, and we finally made the trip over the 4th of July holiday. I’m so glad we did! I wasn’t sure what to expect in Nashville, but I was struck by three things: the music, the history, and the food. Today I’ll share some of our favorite food experiences, and then I’ll share some about the music and history over the next few days. We focused on…
