Stress Baking a la Matthew
This will be a quick post since we still don’t have electricity thanks to Mr. Matthew Hurricane.
Let’s just say that there MIGHT have been some stress baking going on in my kitchen in the day or two before the storm hit!
If you’re going to stress bake, I highly recommend these Texas Sheet Cake Cookies! WHAT?!? Are those a thing?!? They ARE! And a nice thing they are!
I made mine too big, so they took a lot longer to bake and aren’t as pretty as the ones in the link, but they sure were tasty!
Have you made these before? Did you know they were even a thing?!? Leave me a comment and let me know!

I LOVE Texas Sheet Cake…would I ever stop eating the cookies? I’ve gotta try making these.
No, you will never stop eating them! LOL! They’re amazing! Make them immediately!
So glad I could help in your time of need! I’ve made the sheet cake version for as long as I can remember but was truly hoping to try it in cookie form…may still try it soon! 🙂
DO try them! I’ve made a Texas Sheet Cake only once or twice, but they sure were good! I will definitely make these cookies again soon! Thank you for sharing the recipe with me!
I have never heard of Texas sheet cake or Texas sheet cake cookies. And I live in Texas. Thanks for introducing me. Will be trying them.
I just noticed that I didn’t reply to your great comment! I apologize! I hope you’ll try both the sheet cake AND the cookie versions!
I laughed at Leslie’s comment! Like Italian Wedding Soup! Whaaa??
Anywho…I have NOT tried them! And being that I just stuck a stake in the sand about getting on the bandwagon, I’ll just have to take your word for it!
Oh my goodness! Those look decadent. Knowing how rich Texas sheet cake is, I bet I could only handle a bite or two of those at a time. I’m that way with super-sweet treats… just a little bit is plenty!
Exactly! Next time I’ll definitely make them smaller for this very reason!
