I’ve been trying to think of a fun way to kick off this whole blogging thing, so I’m going to swipe an idea from my daughter who blogs over at Migratory Mind.  She posted this graphic for a 31-Day Blogging Challenge, and I’m going to use it as a starting point here.

My daughter and I are different in MANY ways!  She would never dream of starting with item #1, and I think it’s a very good place to start!  The very beginning. Get it?!?

1. Introduction:  I’m Michael Ann!  No, my parents weren’t hoping for a boy, and no, my dad’s name isn’t Michael.  I’m a Georgia girl, and we like double names around here!

While I am FROM Georgia and I do live in Georgia now, I’ve lived away from Georgia about half of my life.  My husband served in the Air Force, and we were blessed to live 13 years in Europe!  We’ve also lived in North and South Carolina before winding up back here near Savannah.

I LOVE to read, so you can expect to find plenty of book reviews here!  We homeschooled our kids all the way through, and we used Sonlight Curriculum, a literature-based curriculum, the whole time.  I’ve read a LOT of books!  This year I plan to revisit some of my favorites and reread some books I didn’t love at the time.  I find that my taste buds change in books as well as in food!  (My mom used to give me Lecture #57 on how your taste buds change.  She was right.)

My husband and I travel as often as we can, and we also enjoy camping, kayaking, and hiking.

I think that’s plenty for now!

P.S.  I’m a huge Downton Abbey fan!  Am I the only person who has waited to watch the final season legally on PBS starting tomorrow night?!?  Any other Downton fans out there?!?  Chime in in the comments below!  I’ll share my favorite Downton quotes soon!
